A good bag and a good value
I purchased this bag for a two-week trip around Greece and found it to be great for my needs. It's relatively roomy yet the main pack just meets carry-on requirements and the small day-pack easily fits under an airplane seat. It's pretty comfortable to wear with nicely padded straps on the main pack and good straps on the detachable day-pack. The shoulder strap is convenient as well--the main bag can be carried as a shoulder bag or with the padded suitcase handle if desired. The day-pack can also be clipped onto the front of the bag which can be good both for security and to distribute weight more evenly.
The bag was also pretty durable although one of the metal clips on the shoulder strap came off when the strap got caught in an airport x-ray machine (not sure this is really the bag's fault though).
Overall I am quite satisfied especially for the price. Just keep in mind this is a travel bag--it's great for carrying on your back from hotel to hotel while traveling but it's not one you would want to be wearing 100% of the time on your trip. (A metal-frame hiking-oriented pack might be better for that purpose.)

Perfect size easy compression
This backpack is smaller than I thought it would be from the picture but it is a perfect size and there are bungies everywhere so it compresses very well to save space when needed.

Excellent ACU bag
This has to be one of the most versatile bags I have ever seen. It is very comfortable (fits big guys too I am a 2XL). There are so many clips pockets organizers places to hang stuff and is so well thought out I am baffled. The shoulder bag either clips on to the back of the bag or may be carried on the shoulder. The bottom of the main backpack unzips and folds out for an approximately cubic foot extra. It zips back up with ease. The bag is sturdy and durable. The two side pockets are huge. I can carry all of my water purification equipment in just one pocket (Filter pump and accessories Iodine and extra canteen). Then I have a whole other one to fill up. I could almost fit a two liter bottle of soda in one pocket if that gives an idea of dimension. If you are a backpacker survivalist or air-soft player you will not be disappointed. The only downside is that the bag does not come with the hydration bladder. However you can pick one up from any sports/outdoor supplier superstore or on AMAZON. I also bought a medium Molle bag with the hydration bladder: MEDIUM Molle Hydration Backpack Pack w/ 2.5 Liter Bladder OD GREEN and found it inferior. This bag is the superior bag and the superior deal. Also great service with Pro-Line trading Corp. Quick efficient and notify you right away of any problems with your order.

Love It
I used my Camelbak Moxie for the 3-day and it worked fine but wanted one with a little more water and storage capacity. This is IT!! The crushed violets is more of a raspberry so feminine and fitting with pink for the 3-day but not "too girly" either. Anyway I would highly recommend this camelbak for hiking biking or long distance walking.

Excellent value with some smart features
I purchased my High Sierra 29" Compass Travel Pack for a two week trip to Italy. My goal was to get the least expensive backpack I could find that was still of reasonable quality. I was confident it would be of good quality because I was able to examine another High Sierra bag that a friend of mine already had. I should say that I am no expert when it comes to backpacks and that there is a whole range of products that are significantly more expensive with which I have no experience. I was traveling in a large group though and was able to compare my bag to several other bags including some from more prominent brands (North Face Osprey).
The number one thing that made this bag stand out from the others in my travel group was that it opens like a suitcase - hinged on the side. This made it much easier for me to get at my gear than it was for my friends. All the other backpacks in my group had one opening at the top of the main compartment which often meant that they had to unpack the whole bag to get what they were looking for.
Another nice feature though not unique to this bag was the smaller detachable day pack. This provided a great way to keep all my valuables with me during the day while my main pack was at the hostel. It also came in handy on day trips as a way to hold the guide book the bottles of wine I purchased or the gear for the beach depending on the day. The day pack also had its own straps which was different than another bag in my group which required swapping straps from the main bag to the day pack. The backpack also has clips built in to the shoulder straps of the main bag to allow the day pack to be carried in front which was nice in crowded train stations known for pick pockets. This feature also allowed for the weight to be distributed a little more evenly than it would have been by attaching the day pack in the "normal" manner by zipping it onto the main pack.
The final feature that I think is notable is the attached panel that covers the shoulder and waist straps of the backpack. When you want to use the backpack the panel simply unzips and is stowed in a small compartment at the bottom of the bag. When it's time to check the bag at the airport you just pull the panel from its compartment and zip it up over the straps to protect them from whatever it is that destroys things in baggage handling. The bag also comes with a single shoulder strap that allows the bag to be carried like a traditional suitcase/attache case. Again this isn't unique to this bag but it's nice to have.
The one negative I experienced was that we were rained on pretty hard one day and some of the contents against the outer shell of the pack were somewhat damp afterward. This might have been because I had it pretty tightly packed but it seemed to be a more pronounced problem in my bag than others in the group.
I just returned from my trip and this backpack was everything I needed and more. It held two weeks worth of clothes (with one load of laundry done halfway through) as well as an extra pair of shoes a lightweight jacket and a towel and flip flops for those hostel showers. The suitcase-like opening made it the envy of the eight others I was traveling with. It also held up very well with no damage or tears in the straps or fabric of the bag after four flights half a dozen trains and a handful of bus rides. I was very satisfied with this backpack and would certainly purchase it again if the need arose.

Great hydration pack
Just purchased this pack and broke it in on a 50 mile mountain bike excursion.
What I like about it. Keeps whatever you fill it up with cold. Adding ice helps as well. It felt near 100 degrees on my ride and once I had exhausted my two water bottles and started drinking from the pack it was still cold. Simply amazing. The ventilated back portion doesnt really work all that well but I sweat a lot so I cant complain. You can feel the air going between your back and the pack so it does work just not that well. Once you have filled the resevoir with fluid you really cant fit all that much in the pack. I got my IPOD wallet cell couple of protein bars electrolyte gels keys a couple of small tools and an extra shirt.
In my opinion you really cant go wrong with this pack.

Stunning
This pack is absolutely stunning. Perfectly designed for maximum storage space. The main compartment stretches from top to bottom with plenty of quick stow-away pockets throughout the pack. Great. Because of this pack I am now dedicated buying to Gregory Packs only period.

Ideal for short trips
Took two of these on a recent trip and I was very happy. I'm a girl with a small frame and had no problems carrying this - another reviewer here feels differently though so perhaps it depends on your needs. I didn't take this hiking and can't vouch for its performance there. Great for backpacking travel though if your trip is relatively short and you want to travel light. Very sturdy and survived being checked into airport luggage on the way back. It could use a few more pockets but otherwise I was very happy and would definitely go for High Sierra again; I doubt I'd pay the exorbitant list price but on Amazon this is an excellent deal.

Big enough but not Obnoxious!
I got this backpack b/c I wanted a backpack to travel with that wasn't a huge obnoxious big framed camping/hiking back. I think it is as big of a pack as you can get w/o getting into the top-loading lid ones and it has the "look" of a normal book backpack. I recently used it for a 12 day trip around Turkey. It was the only bag I took and I was able to put it in the overhead compartment of the plane and it traveled well w/ bus taxi dolmus ferry and train travel. Granted I am a minimalist and a great packer... but I was able to fit plenty in there for the duration of the trip (about 8 tops thin sweatshirt sandals 6 shorts/capris sweatpants... plus personal items and 2 books). The zipper panal to the main compartment opens wide enough that you can load it like a suitcase/front loader versus top-loading. I took the aluminum stay out since my frame is slightly smaller than the torso/frame range they recommended and it worked fine. This is overall a nice and versatile quality pack!

Great for Water
This is my third CamelBak and great for water tire repair and a snack. (The MULE is a better one for carrying more gear.) I like the ipod pocket small tool kit pouch and harness system. It will keep most dirt and water out. The harness and bladder are small enough to incorporate into a larger backpack and can be quickly removed and worn for exploring. As with most bladder systems keep them full or keep them empty and most definitely-clean often. The LOBO will take care of your water and allows you to enjoy where you are.
